I love blogging. I love blogging because it gives me the opportunity to write about so many things I care very deeply about: I’ve blogged at length in Greg’s Africa Thoughts about the persecuted church, the on going–and, slow going–genocide in the Darfur, about corruption and how it kills more people that all the other “dreaded” diseases combined (i.e. HIV-AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria). I’ve experimented with video bloging ( Let Me Show You Something ) … and, I discovered that video is like an entirely different language…
So, why start a new blog and call it the Ink Well? Well, for a couple of reasons: (1.) I like the way WordPress works and I want to try using it for awhile. And, (2.) now that I’m living in America again I want to focus on writing about how we can integrate some SOUTH Christianity into our “cool” NORTHERN Christianity. (And, by SOUTH Christianity I’m not talking about rural churches in Alabama…I’m talking about SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE Christianity…which is quite different from what our Northern hemisphere Christianity has become). It helped to be in Tanzania just at the end of the meeting of Anglican Bishops/Archbishops in Zanzibar. Now THERE was a great demonstration of what I am writing about.
Of course I was very proud that our African bishops are willing to take a Biblical stand in the face of the Biblical and ethical dishonesty of the American church–a stand that has cost them dearly in terms of monetary support for some ministry projects.
Well as you can see by this post I am somewhat opinionated–I prefer to think of it as standing firm in my faith–but, I have a thick skin and don’t have any problem to be in dialogue with those who disagree with me.
P.S. You can follow this link to my Technorati profile as well.
